This review is for the improved model AC5350 although AC5300 is the same unit with fewer features. There is nothing to assemble. just connect the 2-pin polarized power plug into an outlet. the fan blows air out the left and right sides. There are 5 fan speeds and slower speed of 1-3 are virtually silent. If you are more sensitive to allergens probably prefer 5 level.
